Notes from Nate's journal:
Nate was born on December 10, 2003 at 10:52 am via emergency c-section. He weighed 8 pounds, 12 ounces, 22 inches long, and came out with a full head of dark hair that fell out within a month of being born! (He's now dark blonde/light brown.)At his two month doctor's appointment in February, he weighed 14 pounds, 1 ounce and measured 24 3/4 inches long. 95th percentile! (He likes to eat!)
April 8, 2004 - Nate had his 4 month appointment. He weighed 17 pounds, 10 ounces (95th percentile) and was 27 1/4 inches (off the charts!). The doctor predicts he's going to be tall!
June 2004 - At Nate's 6 month appointment, he weighed 21 pounds, 1 ounce (95th percentile) and was 29 inches (way off the charts!) In other news, he's been sitting up for a few weeks now... won't be long before he's crawling, yikes! He's also started eating baby food - his favorite flavors are sweet potatoes and pears.
August 2004 - We have a crawler! Boy does having a baby who moves change your life! I can no longer move the Tivo remote 2 feet and be content knowing Nate can't reach it. He's only been crawling about a week now so he's still wobbly and doesn't go more than half a room or so... but I predict I won't be able to relax in one spot for much longer! He hasn't been to the doctor in awhile (9-month check up in a few weeks) but our scales tell us he's somewhere around 24 pounds. Our little tank! Look for more news and stats next month.
We're excited for the start of football season. Nate's sporting a new Eagles jersey that he'll be wearing all season as watch the games. We're teaching him to raise his arms when we scream, "Touchdown!" He still has a ways to go on mastering that one; so far the only trick he has down is clapping his hands which of course we're very proud of, and is always a crowd pleaser that always seems to elicit an "aww" from all sorts of types. (Hey, I can clap my hands too?)

October 2004 - Nate's 9 month check-up put Nate at the 90-95th percentile for weight (24 pounds, 12 ounces) and way off the charts for height (32 inches.) The nurse said his height is like that of a 2-year old! He's in mostly 18-24 month clothes now. He cruises on furniture and stands only holding on with one hand! Walking next... !
January 2005 - Nate started walking room-to-room on New Years Day when he was a little over 12 1/2 months old. He weighted in at 28 pounds and 32 1/4 inches at his 12 month doctor's appointment - still 95th percent.
He's starting to say a few words, including "ball," and "Santa" and "Da-da-da" for Jon. (And Ma-ma-ma but not sure if it's for me or just a sound he makes.) He also said "football" and "truck" back in November several times but hasn't repeated them since.
May 2005 - Nate's now 17 months and he has about 30 signs and 20-25 words. He has a very strong personality and he's not shy when it comes to telling us what he wants!
He's obsessed with cars and trucks - every time he sees one, he signs car or truck and he waves goodbye as they pass. His favorite phrase is "oh-di-doe," which we're still trying to figure out.
He's still the biggest kid out there - he was off the charts at 15 months again and he doesn't go for a "well" visit again until 2 years. He's gotten very tall but svelte with all the running around he does!
